In honor of American Founders’ Month and Celebrate Freedom Week (September 22–26), we're excited to announce a district-wide video challenge for all schools and students!
📌 Here’s how to participate:
🎬 Create a short video that highlights:
The importance of freedom
OR
A creative interpretation of the Declaration of Independence
📢 Required quote to include in your video:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”
📍 Post your video to your school’s official Facebook page (the sooner the better!!!!)
👍 Voting:
The public will vote by “liking” their favorite video. The video with the most likes by Friday, September 26 at 5 PM wins!
🏆 Prize:
Your school's video will be featured on MySDIRC’s Facebook and Instagram on Monday, September 29.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost, the courage of first responders, and the resilience of a nation forever changed by the events of September 11, 2001.
In schools across our District, we take time to honor the significance of this day, ensuring our students understand the importance of unity, service, and compassion in the face of tragedy. As we reflect, we are reminded of the strength found in community and the enduring impact of coming together in support of one another.
