The School District of Indian River County is exploring potential adjustments to school start and dismissal times for the 2026–2027 school year.

We are currently in the information-gathering phase and want to hear from our families and community. The proposed times were developed to better align schedules across schools, enhance after-school opportunities, and support student learning.

Proposed Start and Dismissal Times
High School – 7:20 a.m. to 2:07 p.m. (currently 7:05 a.m. to 1:52 p.m.)
Middle School – 8:10 a.m. to 2:51 p.m. (currently 8:00 a.m. to 2:41 p.m.)
K–8 Schools (FES, PIC, OME, RMS) – 8:10 a.m. to 2:51 p.m. (currently 8:50 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
Elementary School – 8:55 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. (currently 8:50 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

Wabasso School and IR Prep will maintain their independent start times.

Please take a few minutes to review the proposed start and dismissal times and share your input by Thursday, November 21, at 5:00 p.m.
