The SDIRC School Choice Application for the 2025-2026 School Year is currently open.

The SDIRC School Choice Application has reopened for the 2nd round. The application will be available February 20 - March 16.

Follow these steps for complete choice school enrollment:

1. Have or Create a Focus Parent Portal

2. Be enrolled as an SDIRC student - or complete the new student enrollment application through Focus

3. Complete the School Choice Application in the Focus Parent Portal

4. Accept the Choice Seat offered through the Focus Parent Portal

Cruisin' into Kindergarten

Attention: Indian River County Families with children headed to Kindergarten in August 2025 Mark your calendars and Start your engines! Student Enrollment and Early Learning Programs invites families to our 2^nd Annual Cruisin’ Into Kindergarten on April 5, 2025 from 10 am until noon!

Race on over to the Support Services Complex and hit the Public School Grand Prix Raceway for fun, games and prizes.

Elementary Pit Row will be filled with our SDIRC elementary schools! Collect your school spirit swag, get to know your school staff and meet new friends!

Enrollment Alleyway will be stocked with our tech team and enrollment staff to assist with Parent Portals and FOCUS.

Indian River County is transforming education to inspire and empower ALL students to maximize their full potential. Our district has 13 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, 2 high schools, 3 specialty schools, 1 technical college, and 5 charter schools.

In north county, SDIRC offers an International Baccalaureate Program K-12 pathway. Begin your IB journey at Liberty Magnet, continue to Sebastian River Middle School, and earn your IB Diploma from Sebastian River High School.

Pelican Island Elementary School will be enrolling kindergarten, first, and sixth grade students in the 2025-2026 school year, as the first Classical K-8 Choice School in the School District of Indian River County! Additionally, Fellsmere Elementary, Osceola Magnet, and Rosewood Magnet are adding 6th grade for the 2025-2026 school year and will become K-8 schools over the next three years.

Three of our current elementary schools are Magnet Schools: Liberty Magnet, Osceola Magnet, and Rosewood Magnet. Available seats are offered through the choice application and lottery process. Siblings of current students must apply through the Focus Parent Portal SDIRC School Choice application.

All other county schools are available through the SDIRC School Choice application if there are seats available for the 25-26 school year.

Indian River Virtual School Enrollment

For more information about IRVS please visit https://virtual.indianriverschools.org/

To enquire about enrolling in IRVS, email [email protected]. In the email, include your student's name, birthdate, grade, and student ID # if known. The IRVS staff will verify your eligibility and respond with your eligibility status and next steps.

Voluntary Pre-K Enrollment

SDIRC's Early Learning Programs encompass both the Statewide Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Program (VPK) & Preschool Early Intervention Program which provides Exceptional Student Education (ESE) services to our youngest learners ages 3 to 5.

Returning Student Enrollment

If your student has previously been enrolled in the School District of Indian River County, do not fill out a new student enrollment online application. Students that have been enrolled in SDIRC Homeschool, Early Learning Programs through ESE or VPK, ESE Child Find, an SDIRC Charter school or an SDIRC Public school already have a student ID. If you do not have the student ID recorded from your previous enrollment, call the enrollment office at 772-564-6091. They will provide you with your student ID number and your zoned school information. Then you will work with your zoned school to provide updated documents such as proof of residency and updated contact information.
