GIFFORD, FL (May 16, 2026) - Gifford Middle School (GMS) will officially break ground on its new Wise Open Spaces Outdoor Classroom on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. on the Gifford Middle School campus.
The outdoor classroom is the first major project of GMS Gives, a grassroots initiative focused on strengthening connections between students, families, educators, alumni, businesses, and community supporters while investing in the future of Gifford Middle School.
Wise Open Spaces will transform part of the campus into an engaging outdoor learning environment designed to support collaboration, creativity, mentorship, and student well-being while fostering school pride and community connection.
The initiative was launched through the efforts of Christina Bruce, Sarah Morelli, Sandra Rennick, and James Stein, whose shared vision helped bring together community leaders and supporters committed to creating meaningful opportunities for GMS students.
The groundbreaking ceremony will include students, school leadership, donors, and community members who helped make the project possible. Additional GMS Gives initiatives focused on mentorship, beautification, and student engagement are expected to follow.
