TCTC Graduation

VERO BEACH, FL (December 15, 2025) - The School District of Indian River County proudly celebrates a major milestone as 16 students graduate from the Treasure Coast Technical College (TCTC) Practical Nursing Program on Friday, December 12, 2025. Recognized by Nursing Schools Almanac as the number one Licensed Practical Nursing program in Florida, Treasure Coast Technical College continues to transform ambition into opportunity by preparing highly skilled, compassionate nurses who are ready to serve on day one.

The Practical Nursing Program currently maintains a 100% NCLEX PN pass rate as reported by the Florida Board of Nursing and has consistently achieved board pass rates above ninety percent for more than sixteen years. In 2025, students performed in the ninety-fourth percentile nationwide on the ATI Comprehensive Exit Exam, further reinforcing the program’s national standing and academic excellence.

“This graduation represents more than a credential It represents confidence competence and career readiness, said Dr. David K. Moore, Superintendent of Schools. “Our Practical Nursing Program is changing lives while strengthening the healthcare workforce across our region. We are incredibly proud of these graduates and the dedicated educators and partners who make this level of excellence possible.”

The eleven-month, full-time fast-track program consists of 1,350 clock hours and is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing and accredited by the Council on Occupational Education. Each year, the program accepts twenty to twenty-six students, ensuring personalized instruction and high-impact learning experiences. The program maintains a current retention rate of 85%, reflecting strong student engagement and support.

Students gain extensive hands-on experience through clinical partnerships with Cleveland Clinic, Indian River Estates Acts Communities, Encompass, and Orlando Health. Clinical rotations include acute care, long-term care, pediatrics, school health, public health, nursing, maternity, and high-fidelity simulation labs. In addition, students serve the community by providing school health screenings across the district, reinforcing a service driven approach to healthcare education.

Graduates are prepared for immediate employment and long-term career advancement through a fast-track bridge to Registered Nursing programs in partnership with Indian River State College, opening doors to continued growth and leadership in healthcare.

This celebration marks the beginning of new journeys in service, healing, and impact.
