We’re proud to share that WPTV (NBC) aired a special feature yesterday celebrating the return of teachers to the new school year in Indian River County.
Teachers were welcomed back with cheers, music, and a pep-rally-style reception—creating a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere to kick off the year.
The feature also spotlighted our district’s remarkable academic turnaround: raising from 38th to Top‑5 in Florida and delivering three consecutive “A” ratings.
Superintendent Dr. Moore and School Board Chair Teri Barenborg emphasized that these gains reflect strategic investments in students, teachers, and academic excellence—most notably in reading and third-grade literacy. Dr. Moore acknowledged that while leadership sets the direction, credit truly belongs to the teachers in the classroom.
