The Education Foundation of Indian River County, in partnership, with the School District of Indian River County held a special dedication of iPads to benefit 50 students at the Wabasso School on Wednesday, November 16th. The Wabasso Principal, Mrs. Kathy Piernadozzi, and school team leaders provided a brief presentation then led a tour of the school. The John’s Island Foundation provided a grant of $35,695.00 for the iPads to provide voices to the Wabsso School students who are nonverbal or have very limited verbal communication. The project seeks to extend learning opportunities by meeting the students’ unique learning needs, while opening doors for students to communicate in all settings.
