Federal Aid Application Information

The electronic federal aid application (FAFSA) allows you to import tax information from your completed federal tax return using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. It is strongly encouraged that you select this option if you (your parents and/or spouse) have completed the required returns.

If your FAFSA is selected for verification and you filed a paper FAFSA or did not use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool for your electronic FAFSA, you will need to submit IRS transcripts for all persons reporting taxable income on your aid application. Instructions for obtaining IRS transcripts are on the required verification worksheet (available on our web site under FORMS). Please note: We cannot accept copies of federal tax returns if your file is selected for verification; we must have IRS transcripts. Please Visit IRS website for more information to retrieve you IRS transcripts.

If you have questions while completing the form, call the FAFSA help line at 1-800-433-3243.
