The Education Foundation of Indian River County (EF-IRC) is a non-profit organization that funds school programs and services that support opportunities for students to achieve academic success Pre-K through 12th grades.
The Memorandum of Understanding between EFIRC and the SDIRC defines how the EFIRC is the strategic non-profit partner of the SDIRC and serves as an intermediary organization of the SDIRC to provide private funds for quality educational projects included in the SDIRC’s strategic plan. The organizations share the key goal of "transforming education to inspire and empower all students to reach their full potential."
Through the establishment of the ACHIEVE 2025 Plan, the District has identified a variety of “Transformational Impacts 2025” that will qualitatively change the way education is experienced in the School District of Indian River County. As the District engages in this strategic improvement process, a significant step forward for all students served by the District is the cultivation of a strengthened and aligned partnership with the Education Foundation of Indian River County (EFIRC) through “The Big I.D.E.A.S.” initiative. The support provided through this partnership will serve to elevate vital improvement work for the creation of 21st Century Learning Environments for students in our school communities. Additionally, this partnership will be another shining example of how our community and district are #SDIRCStrongerTogether!
Since 1991, the Education Foundation of Indian River County (EFIRC) has served as the affiliate non-profit foundation for the School District of Indian River County (SDIRC). From the beginning, the mission of both organizations has essentially been to provide programs and services that support opportunities for all students to achieve academic success. In light of the needs exposed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and with new leadership in place at both the EFIRC and SDIRC, the need to strengthen and deepen this relationship has been realized. The Big IDEAS initiative is the beginning of this improved relationship, allowing the EFIRC to align their mission with that of the SDIRC, ensuring that the programs and services offered are meeting the needs of the SDIRC, and supporting the unified mission of “Transforming education to inspire & empower ALL students to reach their full potential.” Both the EFIRC and the SDIRC are excited about this new relationship and the opportunities that will result for ALL students, teachers, and schools in Indian River County! As we navigate our way post-pandemic, we look forward to the next 30 years of affiliation and collaboration, constantly improving the lives of our community’s most precious asset, our children!
