Request College Recommendation Letters from Teachers
-
Ask your teachers about writing a favorable letter of recommendation for you. Typically, you only need two letters, possibly more. Do not include letters unless they are required or optional.
- Some selective schools would like to see: one generally from a Math or Science teacher and one generally from an English, History, or Foreign Language teacher.
-
Speak with your teachers as early as possible. Many teachers receive a number of requests and will need ample time to write a letter that will benefit you. Provide each teacher with a resume and a stamped, addressed envelope for any school that is not a Common Application school. Follow up with recommenders to confirm letters of recommendation have been completed and please…make sure to thank them for their time and effort.
Counselor Letter of Recommendation
-
Counselors will use student resumes and information from meetings with students to provide Universities with an excellent letter of recommendation on your behalf.
- ALL REQUESTS MUST BE MADE AT LEAST 10 DAYS IN ADVANCE.
Community Member Letter of Recommendation
- You may want to ask your boss, pastor, or volunteer organizer.
