The mission of SRMS is to develop citizens who are nationally and globally conscious, possess personal integrity, and pursue academic excellence through content area literacy. Our efforts will create life-long, self-motivated learners who actively serve their communities.
Sebastian River Middle School is fully authorized to deliver the Middle Years Program (MYP)
The MYP focuses on the development of the whole child as it strives to prepare students to be world citizens and lifelong learners. The curriculum is designed to meet the academic, social, physical, emotional and cultural needs of young students.
At the heart of the MYP is a commitment to “structured inquiry” as a vehicle for learning. Through inquiry, concept-based questions are used to explore curricular themes and to help students to make significant connections.
The Culture at Sebastian River Middle School (SRMS)
Its first-rate academic program is backed by experienced, dedicated, passionate teachers who ultimately give students the tools they need to learn on their own. SRMS also offers something special that students just won’t get anywhere else — a positive can-do spirit that empowers them to reach their full potential!
IB learners strive to become inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective. These attributes represent a broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond intellectual development and academic success.
