Sebastian River Middle School Band Performed at the MPA's

Sebastian River Middle participated in the Music Performance Assessmentss at Ft Pierce Central High School.  The Band for the MPA competition this year, a total of 74 students, was composed of the 8th grade band and 14 students from the 7th grade band. The students were required to play three prepared pieces for the stage judges and complete a sight reading segment, including two pieces of new music. The SRMS Band was the only middle school in Indian River County to earn straight superiors!


Sebastian River Middle School Choir Performs at the MPA's 
The Sebastian River Middle Choir participated in the annual Music Performance Assessment.  SRMS took two choirs; the Concert Choir (7th and 8th grade combined), and the Festival Singers (6th, 7th, and 8th combined). The Concert Choir received Superior ratings from every stage judge in every assessment category, a first for SRMS.  The Festival Singers received a Superior in Sight Reading as well as an overall Superior for on stage. Both choirs received a composite score of Superior for this event. Go Cowboys!


Congratulations to Carol Scaramuzzi for being selected as the District 2015 Adult Volunteer of the Year!  Carol was also selected at one of Florida's 2014-2015 Adult Outstanding School Volunteers!

Sebastian River Middle School had a student recognition event "Cowboy Night of Excellence" on Feb. 25th.  Close to 250 students were in attendance and were recognized for honor roll, perfect attendance, and/or for participating on an athletic team.  The students received sunglasses as a special gift to represent the saying "My future is so bright, I have to wear shades!", the shades have the SRMS logo and the students were very excited.


Celebrate Literacy Week 2015: Sebastian River Middle School's faculty and staff get into character to inspire their students! As part of the week, which focused on literacy, the faculty and staff dressed up as their favorite book character,  ranging from Dorothy, to the Cat in the Hat and Mary Poppins.


On January 22, 2015, there was a ceremony to honor the winners of the VFW essay contest, "Why I Appreciate America's Veterans".  Mrs. Inghram joined the proud families at the VFW for the awards.  Our county had the most winners in the state of Florida and VFW was very impressed with our students.  Sierra Holmes (right) won first prize in the entire state and goes onto the next round in Lake Okeechobee February 28th.  She was awarded with a medal, certificate, and 300.00.  Skylar Carstairs earned third place and also received a medal, certificate and 100.00.  Great job to Sebastian River Middle School. Go Cowboys!!


Sebastian River Middle School Boys Basketball Team Completes Undefeated Season!
Congratulations to SRMS for a great season! The boys team proved to be one the most 
complete and dynamic teams in Indian River County and throughout!  The team was undefeated

SRMS School Spirit Week Monday, Dec. 1 through Friday, Dec. 5
