The School Psychology Services Department consists of twelve full- and part-time school psychologists serving all students pre-kindergarten through grade 12 in all schools in Indian River County. School psychologists provide a wide range of comprehensive services which may include (depending on the school):

 

School Psychologists  

School psychologists are professional-technical employees who work an eight-hour day, 10 months a year (196 days). All school psychologists are district-based but assigned to specific schools in addition to district-wide responsibilities. At each school the school psychologist is provided with office space and necessary technological equipment such as computers and access to printers, scoring software, Internet, and network services.

Professional development opportunities are available in areas such as social skills training, crisis intervention, counseling, assessment, Problem Solving/Response to Intervention, bullying prevention, Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports, and a variety of other Exceptional Student Education topics.

As an integral part of the Student Services/Exceptional Student Education Department, School Psychological Services collaborates with the other departments to promote overall student well-being. School Psychological Services is managed and supervised by a district-level clinical supervisor with training and experience in school psychology.

Job vacancies are posted in our Online Vacancy and Application System. Applicants should follow the Support and Professional Technical Application Process, completing the on-line application and attaching a resume and available letters of reference. Interviews will be scheduled after applications and resumes have been received and files are complete.

Educational background must be in the area of school or clinical psychology from an accredited college or university, preferably one that is NASP-approved. Additionally, applicants must be eligible for school psychology certification and/or licensure as a psychologist or school psychologist in the state of Florida.
