Dr. William Hanna will be an Ambassador for the School District of Indian River County at the 2017 National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

Vero Beach, FL – November 2, 2017 –  Dr. William Hanna, Mathematics Teacher at Sebastian River High School, has been chosen as an Ambassador for the School District of Indian River County to present at the 2017 National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). The NCTM hosts over 2,000 attendees from all over the world, and only a select few are chosen as presenters.  Dr. Hanna submitted a proposal to the NCTM in November of 2016, and received notification of acceptance this year.  Dr. Hanna’s presentation, titled, “Discover the Treasure Buried in the Unit Circle and Build the Basic of Trigonometry with Technology,” will be held in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

Dr. Hanna stated, “This NCTM conference is big, and I was thrilled and ecstatic that my presentation was accepted. This gives me the opportunity to be among classroom teachers; school, district, and state mathematics education leaders; administrators; mathematicians; and researchers from around the world. This experience will help me serve and create more successful stories with our precious children. This opportunity helps to leverage our academic capital in Indian River County and the State of Florida.”

The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics was founded in 1920 and has grown to be the world’s largest organization concerned with mathematics education, having more than 80,000 members and more than 230 Affiliates throughout the world.
