Flynn Fidgeon, Public Information Officer
On Thursday, January 26, 2017, shortly before dismissal, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office received a bomb threat for Gifford Middle School. The campus was immediately placed under a “Code Yellow” and administration began to follow procedures from the emergency manual, while the Sheriff’s Office investigated. Under direction from the Sheriff’s Office, student and staff dismissals were delayed. Classes will be held, as usually scheduled, tomorrow. Thanks to the Sheriff’s Office staff for their hard work to ensure student and staff safety during this situation. Student and staff safety is always our number one priority.
