IRS RELEASES THE 2018 W-4 FORM & UPDATES THE WITHHOLDING CALCULATOR

The IRS has issued the 2018 W-4 Form, Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate.  The new form & the updated calculator are available to employees by clicking the appropriate link in the “Links” box on this page.

The new form is designed to help employees more accurately determine their Federal Income Tax withholding under the new 2018 Federal Income tax withholding laws passed in January 2018.

Additionally, the IRS has updated its withholding calculator, which is a software application that will walk the employee through their financial information and provide a recommendation for completing their W-4 withholding form.

It is only necessary to file a new W-4 form if the employee wishes to change their filing status or number of allowances. Why would an employee need to file an new W-4 form to change status or allowances?
Some the possibilities include: birth or adoption of a child, marriage, divorce, starting a another job, or a change in outside income.

Because of the new tax changes for 2018, all employees are encouraged to review their tax withholding information and submit new a W-4 form, if necessary.  However, it is NOT required.
Employees can find their W-4 filing status & allowances on their pay stubs, under Withholding Status & Exemptions.  Pay stubs are available through the Doculivery website. A link is provided in the “Links” Box on this web page.
