Applying for Choice and Magnet Schools in Focus

Parents of current students should have a Parent Portal Account, but parents who are new to the district or don't have an account will need to create a Parent Portal Account in Focus before following the steps below.
1. Log into the Parent Portal in Focus at Under the tab with the child’s name, click on the SDIRC Magnet and Choice Application.   Graphic of step 1
 2. You will see the student’s demographic and contact information at the top of the application.  Graphic of step 2
 3.  Select 'I would like to APPLY FOR ENROLLMENT' for a new child and complete the enrollment form.  Graphic of step 3
 4. Rank school choices (Magnet and Choice Programs) by 1, 2, 3.  Graphic step 4
 5. List any Siblings already enrolled in Applying Schools and Upload Documents that may be required at the bottom of the application. Then click save.  Graphic of step 5
