sdirc schools grants awarded

The Education Foundation of Indian River County is pleased to announce that 7 grants, totaling $33,774.77 have been selected for funding.

School District of Indian River County school principals and teachers were encouraged to submit a “Letter of Idea” outlining what you would like to accomplish. Proposals focused on one of the following 4 areas with a focus on increasing student achievement: School Cultural Climate (social and emotional supports), Secondary Science (8th and 9th Biology), Math (K – 12th), and Reading (K-12th).

The following schools will receive grant funding:

· Osceola Magnet – “Improving Math Achievement” - $3,490.00

· Rosewood Magnet – “STREAMing through Coding with Robotics Clubs” - $4,799.00

· Glendale Elementary – “We are 21st Century Learners!” - $6,985.77

· Vero Beach Elementary – “Vertical Aeroponic Kinder “GARDNERS” - $5,650.00

· Citrus Elementary School – “Enhanced Learning for K!” - $2,500

· Sebastian River High School – “Integrating Robotics into Physics” - $7,350.00

· Pelican Island – “Planting the Seeds of Knowledge” - $3,000.00
