Vero Beach, FL, July 17, 2017– Navy Hometown Media Outreach featured a story about Vero Beach native and 2015 Vero Beach High School Graduate, Bradley Mower as being a part of a naval construction force maintaining a naval base in one of the world’s most volatile regions at Naval Support Activity, Bahrain.

The Navy’s 5th Fleet’s area of operation encompasses about 2.5 million square miles of water area and includes the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, Red Sea, and parts of the Indian Ocean. The expanse comprises 20 countries, including three critical choke points at the Strait of Hormuz, the Suez Canal, and the Strait of Bab al Mandeb at the southern tip of Yemen. Members of the naval construction force in Bahrain provide support to U.S. and coalition forces operating throughout the 5th Fleet’s area of operation.

When attending Vero Beach High School, Bradley was busy on the football field. He played as a wide receiver on the Varsity football team throughout his junior and senior years, and on the Junior Varsity and Freshman squad for his sophomore and freshman years. Bradley has always aspired to join the military. College was very important to him, and he knew the military would give him that opportunity. Bradley is currently taking online college courses with the help of the Navy.

Bradley’s mom, Rebekah Holten, stated, “I am extremely proud of my son. Everything he has strived to do he has always accomplished. We are very thankful for the Navy and what they have offered Bradley so far.”

Bradley has been in Bahrain for one year. He returns home on August 2nd, 2017, for a 20-day leave before returning for another year of service. Bradley’s family and friends are anxiously awaiting his arrival.
