Citrus has been at the forefront of technology in the school district. Citrus was one of the first schools in the nation to experiment with an Integrated Learning Systems (ILS) in a distributed configuration. Today the school has over 280 student computers in our computer labs and our classrooms in addition to over 70 student laptops and 120 tablets. There are two computer labs. One is a scheduled lab and the other is an open lab teachers may sign up to use. All 5th Grade Students are participating in the Digital Innovation Initiative which includes a laptop cart for all 5th grade core classrooms. All 5th grade students have their own laptop throughout the school year. Currently, all teachers are connected through the WAN with the District Office and other schools. All classrooms are equipped with a SMART Board (or Smart Projector), Sound Systems and Document Cameras. We have a schoolwide wireless network.
EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM
Citrus has an Extended Day Program that includes an early morning program from 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M, in addition to the after school care. This program services approximately 100 students on a daily basis until 6:00 PM. This program has responded to children's developmental needs through the use of music and art activities, computer literacy and a learning environment that includes play.
