Our Vision

We envision J.A. Thompson Elementary Magnet as a model for providing all students with a quality education on a safe campus. Staff and students will greet one another with respect and smiles. Our campus will be filled with children that are excited and happy. Classrooms will ring with the sounds of active learning by both teachers and students. Through the commitment to these ideals, J.A. Thompson Magnet will be the flagship school of the district.

Our entire staff at J.A. Thompson Magnet School is fully committed to guide all students along the path to excellence; regardless of previous academic performance, background, socio-economic status, race or gender. Our purpose is to educate all students through multiple learning experiences. Every student will master grade level skills through perseverence and problem solving. Our students will converse, relate, and interact respectfully while taking responsibility for their own action.
