Dress Code Clarification

Student Code of Conduct notes the School Advisory Committee’s involvement in Dress Code determination. At the August 26, 2009 SAC meeting, discussion of the Unified Dress Code took place and the following clarifications made:

· Polo shirt means a polo-styled collared shirt

· Denim of any color will be worn ONLY on Fridays

· Sweaters, light-weight jackets, and sweatshirts must be one of the approved solid shirt colors

Important dress code information.

Student Drop Off – Mornings can be rushed, but it is imperative for student safety that parents continue through the student drop off line and NOT drop students off in the parking lot.

Dress Code Clarification – Denim pants of any color are allowed ONLY on Fridays.

Lunches – While you may bring your student food for lunch, food cannot be brought to be shared with other students.

Important SGMS Reminders

A little late is too late. Students are expected to be in class on time. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.

Referrals for Unexcused Tardies (per quarter):

1^st Tardy – verbal warning

2^nd Tardy – verbal warning

3^rd Tardy – call home

4^th Tardy - detention assigned by teacher for Tuesday or Thursday

Subsequent Tardies –referral to administration

Tardies will be erased at the end of each quarter.
