Teacher and Staff appreciation week May 6-10th

>> 2013 Student Survey

Pelican Island will have a Title 1 Math and Science Summer Camp.  June 12th - June 28th. The camp is free and all hands-on learning.  Nice field trip at the conclusion.  Hurry to return your form!

Our MOONSHOT Moment

Our Moonshot moment is our drive to have 90% of all third graders on grade level by 2018. Help us.  Read to your students.

A Thought about Grades: Grades - The primary purpose of grades is to communicate achievement. Achievement is defined as performance measured against accepted, published, public standards and learning outcomes as set by the state. Currently our academic standards are called the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS); however, we are in the process of transitioning into the Common Core State Standards for English/Language Arts and Math. Ultimately, student grades should be based on measurable evidence that indicate academic progress and achievement.
