DRESSING FOR SUCCESS - Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd ,3rd and 4th grades for 2009/2010 school year
This "Dress for Success" policy applies to the above grade levels for both boys and girls.
Any solid color "polo type" golf shirt. Left side insignia allowable but can be no larger than 1" in diameter, unless it is a Beachland logo. Shirt tails should be no longer than the bottom of the back pocket.
Trousers, shorts, solid colored jumpers, capris and skorts must be either khaki, navy or black colored. Skorts must be finger tip length and jumpers must have collared shirts underneath. Solid colored dresses are also permitted.
Fridays are "spirit days". Jeans are permitted on Fridays only. Students will wear a Beachland t-shirt with jeans or shorts.
Closed toe shoes or tennis shoes must be worn at all times.

A common thread of safe and successful schools in the United States is a uniform/dress code policy. Our policy offers flexibility but will be enforced. Uniforms are encouraged to decrease competition and peer pressure. They will also be money-savers for parents.
DRESS CODE - 5th Grade for 2009/2010 school year
- Shoes – toe & back/heel must be fully enclosed at all times.
- The length of shorts, skirts & skorts must be at mid-thigh or longer. (NO short shorts.)
- Hats may be worn at recess, field trips and outdoor physical education. Hats are, otherwise, not permitted.
- Clothing must not be revealing. Midriffs may not be exposed. Halters, back-outs, fishnets and spaghetti straps, etc. may not be worn. Underwear may not be exposed.
- Shirts MUST be buttoned at all times and have sleeves.
- Make-up, expensive jewelry, extreme hairdos and/or distracting hair colors are not permitted.
- Print on the seat area of shorts/pants is not permitted, except for pocket logos.
- Hems of trousers and/or skirts may not touch the ground.
- Inappropriate articles of clothing and pins that disrupt the learning process are not permitted. Such items include, but are not limited to references to: drugs, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, gangs and vulgar or suggestive phrases or pictures.
The administration of the school shall have the authority to judge whether the appearance of any student is disruptive to the educational function of the school or school activity.
